Job Description
As a Lab Technician within the Cheese Application Team, you will play an important role in crafting and refining cheese products using advanced lab and pilot plant facilities. Your work will involve close collaboration with application specialists, researchers, and commercial teams to explore new techniques, develop innovative products, and improve existing offerings. From crafting cheese varieties like Gouda, Mozzarella, and Cheddar, to performing ripening tests and quality analyses, this role blends technical expertise with hands-on production. Additionally, you'll ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards, manage facilities, and participate in product tastings.
Responsibilities
- Perform pilot-scale and small-scale cheese production using specialized equipment.
- Checking cheese properties: Chemical / mechanical and microbiological tests, on ingredients and finished cheese products.
- Manage the process from raw materials to final products.
- Coordinate and participate in tasting sessions to evaluate product quality.
- Document and report findings, providing insights and recommendations for future improvements.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic workspace in laboratory, pilot plant, and ripening facilities.
Requirements
- MBO or HBO degree in Food or Dairy Science, or a related field in biosciences.
- Strong interest or experience in cheese-making, food science, or microbiology.
- Recent graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive mindset, focused on achieving impactful results and contributing to team success.
- Commitment to continuous learning and career development.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

- Salary range: €2900,- to €3300,-
