(Senior) Research Associate – Immunology/Cell Biology

Job

We are seeking a highly motivated (Senior) Research Associate with a strong background in immunology or cell biology and hands-on experience with cell-based functional assays. You will play a crucial role in identifying the next generation therapeutic multispecific antibodies by setting up cell-based assays, performing functionals screenings, and analyzing and reporting the results in a multidisciplinary team setting. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Independently design, execute and analyze cellular functional assays.
  • Conduct cell-based experiments, using for instance cytotoxicity assays or co-culture of immune cells and disease target cells.
  • Develop and optimize of new assays.
  • Maintain and culture primary cells and continuous cell lines.
  • Collaborate with the research team to plan and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Document experimental procedures and results in (electronic) lab notebooks and databases.
  • Contribute to technical reports and presentations summarizing research findings.

Profile

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience with cell-based assays. You thrive to develop and run complex experiments. Moreover, you have a flexible attitude that blends in with the entrepreneurial nature of Gyes as a start-up biotech. You meet the following requirements:

  • HBO (BSc) or MSc degree in Immunology, Life Sciences, Cell Biology or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of laboratory experience in immunology or cell biology techniques, with a focus on functional assays.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA and other cell-based techniques.
  • Mature teamwork and communication abilities, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reproducible results.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within our multidisciplinary teams.
