Job

As Technical Support Specialist at GenDx, you are committed to help improve the quality of life and survival of transplant patients by providing excellent support to customers.

You have an extensive knowledge of molecular biology, hands on experience and a solid technical background when it comes to DNA analysis techniques such as (quantitative real-time) PCR, DNA sequencing, and related analysis software. As a Technical Support Specialist, you empathize with our customers and ensure they receive outstanding support with every inquiry. Our Technical Support Team provides guidance on data analysis, interpretation, and quality assessment, as well as workflow optimization, reagent and equipment compatibility, and more.

To give our customers and their patients the best possible support, you collect and organize relevant information to answer technical questions via email, phone or through online meetings. Naturally, you are an enthusiastic and driven person, who enjoys solving complex issues and explain challenging topics through clear communication. In that capacity, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Sales, Portfolio and Education, to communicate customers’ needs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of both new and existing software products.
  • Translate technological advancements and research findings into valuable product solutions for molecular diagnostics.
  • Prepare and manage comprehensive product documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to GenDx colleagues and clients.
  • Coordinate and support the R&D Software team, including software developers and bioinformaticians.
  • Ensure compliance with IVDR guidelines and quality standards (ISO 13485 and IEC 62304).

Profile

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular biology or equivalent.
  • Experience with (q)PCR and DNA sequencing.
  • Familiarity with immunological matters, especially the HLA gene family, is preferred.
  • You are a team player who shows initiative and knows when to consult their colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • You are service-minded, representing GenDx professionally at all times.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • You currently live near Utrecht Science Park or are willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
  • Please note: you must be legally authorized to live and work in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
