Process Engineer

To strengthen our Operations team, we offer a challenging position for a detail-oriented and creative Process Engineer with a hands-on and proactive mind-set.

Job

As a Process Engineer at GenDx, you bridge lab-scale development to production and you optimize and scale up production processes. Thus ensuring our state-of-the-art diagnostic products meet high-quality standards. You test and refine process robustness, automate workflows and implement new techniques in the production laboratory.

Collaborating with R&D and manufacturing, you drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness. With a proactive, hands-on mindset, creativity, and attention to detail, you contribute to seamless technology transfer and eventually to transplant outcomes for patients all around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting experiments to establish the best possible processes and operational systems to optimize and scale up our products and services for molecular diagnostics.
  • Translating technological advancement into production and QC processes.
  • Processing results, including computer analyses.
  • Recording research data in reports.
  • Working according to existing protocols, SOPs, etc.
  • Contributing to good laboratory organization.
  • Maintenance of capital equipment in the laboratory.
  • Contributing to official study report documentation.
  • Working according to ISO 13485 standards.

Profile

The ideal candidate:

  • BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology (or related field), or acquired level through work experience.
  • At least 3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a manufacturing or development company.
  • Knowledge of molecular diagnostics and laboratory techniques, especially DNA sequencing, amplification technologies and related analyses software.
  • Affinity with program management (Hamilton Venus) skills as well as analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, set direction and manage commitments.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a proactive manner, with a focused approach and a keen eye for detail
  • Good communication, networking and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • You currently live near Utrecht Science Park or are willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
